Inter Kashi Trophy Delay Exposes AIFF’s Double Standards

More than a month has passed since Inter Kashi were officially crowned champions, yet the trophy that symbolizes their triumph remains undelivered. For a club that fought relentlessly on the pitch, their moment of glory has been unfairly denied by the very body meant to uphold the spirit of the game the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

This delay is not just about a piece of silverware. It reflects a deeper problem: institutional bias, neglect, and selective urgency. When Churchill Brothers were declared winners under highly controversial circumstances, the AIFF rushed to hand them the trophy even as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) had already issued a stay order. The inconsistency is glaring.

Why is Inter Kashi, who have rightfully earned their victory, being forced to wait endlessly? Why does the AIFF bend rules for a select few while ignoring others? These are not just procedural lapses, they hint at a culture of favoritism that is eating away at Indian football’s credibility.

Fans, players, and clubs deserve better. Football in India will not grow as long as the AIFF operates with double standards and compromises on transparency. If trophies can be delivered to some even against legal orders, then surely the champions of Inter Kashi should not be left waiting a month for what is rightfully theirs.

It is time to ask is the AIFF working for Indian football, or only for those who suit its convenience? Until this imbalance is corrected, the dream of Indian football’s rise will remain just a dream.
